Getting Started

What is MuscliKnot and how does it work?

MuscliKnot is an AI-powered physical wellness and muscle recovery platform designed to relieve muscle knots, chronic tightness, and myofascial trigger points.

Instead of offering generic stretch routines, MuscliKnot lets you pinpoint the exact anatomical sub-region of your discomfort on an interactive 3D body map. Our AI analyzes your pain intensity, duration, posture habits, and available tools to formulate personalized protocols consisting of targeted stretches, trigger point compression, and mobility exercises.

Is MuscliKnot a substitute for medical diagnosis or physical therapy?

No. MuscliKnot is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

Our app provides wellness and mobility recommendations for general muscle knots and postural tension. If you are experiencing sudden or severe pain, numbness, tingling, joint instability, unexplained swelling, or suspect a muscle tear or fracture, stop using the app immediately and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

Where can I download MuscliKnot?

MuscliKnot is available on both major mobile platforms:

  • iOS: iPhone and iPad via the Apple App Store.
  • Android: Smartphones and tablets via Google Play.

You can use the store badges on our homepage or in the navigation bar to download the app directly.

Can I use my account across multiple phones or tablets?

Yes. When you sign in with your email or social login, your pain logs, assessment records, equipment preferences, and progress tracking synchronize automatically across all your devices in real-time.

Does MuscliKnot sync with Apple Health or Google Fit?

Yes! MuscliKnot supports automatic syncing with both Apple Health (on iOS) and Google Fit (on Android). When enabled in Settings, your stretch and recovery sessions log automatically as Mindful Minutes or Mobility Workouts to help you complete your daily health goals.

AI & Pain Mapping

How does the Pinpoint Pain Assessment work?

When you start an assessment, you tap on an interactive silhouette to select where it hurts. Rather than just selecting "shoulder" or "back", MuscliKnot lets you drill down to specific sub-regions:

  • Upper trapezius, levator scapulae, or rhomboids for neck and upper back.
  • Thoracic spine vs. lumbar erectors for middle and lower back.
  • Piriformis, gluteus medius, or IT band for hip and leg pain.
  • Thenar eminence or thumb base for desk workers and phone grip fatigue.

The AI then asks targeted questions about symptom duration, pain quality (dull, tight, sharp), and movement restrictions to formulate the most effective recovery routine.

What if I have pain or tightness in multiple areas?

You can record multiple pain hotspots during your assessment session. MuscliKnot understands kinetic chain biomechanics — for example, tight hip flexors often cause lower back pain, and tight pectorals contribute to neck knots. The AI connects the dots and sequences your routine to release both primary and compensating muscles.

What should I do if an exercise causes sharp pain?

Immediately stop the exercise.

A mild stretching sensation or a satisfying "hurts-so-good" trigger point pressure is normal during myofascial release. However, sharp, stinging, electrical, or pinching pain is a warning signal from your nervous system. In the workout player, tap "Too Painful" or "Skip", and MuscliKnot will immediately adjust the remaining routine with gentler alternatives.

How does MuscliKnot adapt to my progress over time?

At the conclusion of each recovery session, you are prompted to log your post-routine pain score (1–10) and feedback. MuscliKnot compares your historic mobility and discomfort levels, gradually advancing from gentle myofascial release to strengthening and preventative mobility drills as your knots dissolve.

Exercises & Equipment

Do I need special gym equipment or massage tools to use MuscliKnot?

No! MuscliKnot features a vast library of bodyweight-only stretches and self-release techniques that require zero equipment. If you don't own any tools, simply choose "No Equipment" in your profile, and the app will generate routines utilizing walls, chairs, doorways, and manual hand pressure.

What equipment does MuscliKnot support?

If you have recovery gear at home or at the gym, you can toggle any of the following in your equipment inventory:

  • Foam Rollers: Smooth, dense, or textured foam rollers.
  • Massage Guns / Percussion Massagers: Guided head attachments and stroke speeds.
  • Lacrosse / Massage Balls: Single balls, double peanut balls, or tennis balls for deep trigger points.
  • Resistance Bands: Mini loop bands and long mobility bands.
  • Yoga Blocks & Straps: For assisted range-of-motion stretching.

MuscliKnot dynamically swaps and filters movements based on what you have on hand.

How long are the routines and how often should I do them?

Most routines range between 5 to 15 minutes. You can customize the duration before beginning each session depending on your schedule (e.g. a quick 3-minute desk break or an in-depth 20-minute evening wind-down).

For best results, we recommend performing light stretching and mobility daily. For aggressive trigger point release with massage guns or dense lacrosse balls, give the target muscle 24 to 48 hours to recover between deep sessions.

Can I preview exercises before starting a workout?

Yes. Every routine provides a full list of exercises beforehand. You can tap on any exercise card to view high-resolution anatomical diagrams, form cues, recommended durations, and contraindications before starting.
